Director Chloé Zhao, whose Venice and Toronto winning 'Nomadland' is launching at the London Film Festival this year, made a splash at the Sundance with this powerful portrait of a young man facing up to the reality of his life. Rodeo star Brady Blackburn (Brady Jandreau) awakens in hospital following a serious accident. A horse stamped on his head and the damage to his skull is such that a doctor warns him of the perils of returning to the ring. But this is the only world that Brady knows. Or loves. To give up would be like losing himself. But continuing may hold an even higher price. This alternative take on the Western is a riveting and moving drama.
