Presented by rap royalty Drake, this feature debut is a morally complex, Sundance Award-winning portrait of race, family and consequence.
'Monsters and Men' tells three intertwined stories about the consequences of a police shooting in Brooklyn. Manny (Anthony Ramos, 'Hamilton', 'A Star is Born') films the shooting, but it lands him in jail. Dennis ('BlackKklansman'’s John David Washington) is a cop on the same beat, torn between his allegiances to his fellow policemen and the black community. And a high school athlete (Kelvin Harrison Jr) must decide whether the price of activism is worth forfeiting his pro career.
Just like 'Do the Right Thing', this tale of Brooklyn takes a horrific incident and sees its implications from all sides, creating an explosive social drama.
★★★★ "Unusually subtle and sensitive" - Geoffrey Macnab, The Independent
