We meet Londoner Jade as she leaves hospital, the survivor of an ex-partner’s acid attack. With her scarring challenging how suitors, her daughter and society views her, she is forced to confront truths she is unprepared for. Desperately seeking a means to heal herself physically, Jade embraces new ways of earning money while trying to rebuild her life.
With a remarkable, committed performance from newcomer Vicky Knight (a survivor of severe burns in real life), director Sacha Polak has crafted a topical film, unashamed to show its character in their full complexity.
