A year before his iconic performance as Pinkie Brown in ‘Brighton Rock’, Richard Attenborough played another young man drawn into a world of crime. Army buddies Ted and Dave return from the war to a London caught in the grip of a crime wave. Ted becomes a cabbie, but Dave is caught up in the underworld. When he is killed, Ted decides to prove a local gang were responsible. Directed by John Paddy Carstairs, who would later work with Norman wisdom on a popular series of comedies, ‘Dancing with Crime’ is a dark portrait of post-war London.
