A+E Networks UK’s Lifetime® channel and Women in Film & TV UK are proud to announce the winners of their inaugural short film competition, in partnership with Curzon Home Cinema. The competition, open to all UK-based women filmmakers, attracted almost 200 entries and is part of Lifetime’s global Broad Focus initiative to celebrate and promote the work of women behind the camera.
The winning short films, each 5 minutes long, were showcased at a screening at London’s iconic Curzon Soho on 22nd November. At the event the judges announced the overall winner of the competition, Sarah Clift, who received £10,000 in prize money. The other six filmmakers received £1,000 each.

The winning films were selected by an industry panel which included: Women in Film & TV UK (WFTV UK) CEO Kate Kinninmont; WFTV UK Chair and producer Cassandra Siggsgard; actor and producer Michelle Collins; director Destiny Ekaragha; and General Manager UK at A+E Networks, Heather Jones.
