Sally Potter’s 'Ginger & Rosa' is an evocative and beautifully shot portrait of post-war Britain, as seen through the eyes of an impressionable young teenager.
Elle Fanning plays Ginger, who finds herself increasingly estranged from her mother and drawn further into the world of her pacifist and anti-nuclear activist father. However, her friendship with the fiery Rosa is severely tested by his unconventional lifestyle.
The result is an intelligent examination of political and personal responsibility starring Christina Hendricks, Timothy Spall, Jodhi May, Annette Bening and Alice Englert.
