Mike Newell was born in St Albans in 1942. He is known for directing the classic 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' (1994), which broke box-office records around the world and won multiple awards. Since then, he has made a number of Hollywood films, such as 'Donnie Brasco' (1997) and 'Mona Lisa Smile' (2003). Newell became the first British director to direct a Harry Potter film with 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' (2005).
Guillaume Nicloux was born in 1966. He is a French director and writer, known for 'Le Concile de Pierre' (2006), starring Monica Bellucci and Catherine Deneuve, 'The Nun', which premiered at the 2013 Berlin Film Festival and 'Valley of Love' (2016)

His most notable works include the visceral and shocking drama ‘Irreversible’, starring Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel, which premiered to a rousing commotion from audiences and critics alike at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, whilst his psychedelic melodrama ‘Enter The Void’ received a 15-minute standing ovation a few years later. ‘Love’ premiered at the Grand Theatre Lumière in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
