Born on June 23, 1974 in Blacktown, New South Wales, Joel Edgerton has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films including ‘Animal Kingdom’, ‘Ned Kelly’ and first came to international attention with a role in ‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’. In 1994 he attended Nepean Drama School in western Sydney before moving onto various stage productions, most notably at The Sydney Theatre Company. Written, produced and directed by Edgerton, 2015’s ‘The Gift’ marks his feature directorial debut.
Born in Egypt to Armenian parents, Atom Egoyan was raised in Canada. He has won the Grand Prix and numerous International Critics Awards in Cannes, as well as having received two Oscar nominations. His films have been presented in major retrospectives around the world and several books have been written about his work. He was President of the Jury at the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival.
