Agnès Varda

Agnès Varda was born in Brussels, Belgium, to a Greek father and French mother. Known as 'La Grande Dame' of the French New Wave, Varda is best known for 'Cleo from 5 to 7' (1962) and 'The Gleaners and I' (2000). She has recently dedicated her time celebrating the legacy of her late husband, the great Jacques Demy, by restoring his classic 'The Umbrellas of Cherbourg' (1964) ahead of its theatrical rerelease.
